The Jacksonville Main Street Program follows the National Main Street Center's Four Point Approach. It is a comprehensive revitalization strategy to encourage economic development within the context of historic preservation. Since 1980, Main Street has emerged across the country as a major force in downtown revitalization. The Four Point Approach encourages economic development through work of active committees in the areas of Design, Economic Restructuring, Promotion, and Organization.
