Active involvement in Jacksonville Main Street can be a fun way of socializing, accomplishing goals, and sharing your ideas about downtown revitalization. The level of your activity is entirely up to you. From assisting for a couple of hours at an event to taking an active role on a committee, from working on a project at home to volunteering for an all day promotion, you can choose the amount of your time donation.

There are a variety of ways you can get involved with Jacksonville Main Street. Here is a sampling of upcoming events and ongoing activities:

Serve food or take tickets at our Dinner Theater coming in late fall
Volunteer to help at the Bridal Expo on January 28, 2008
Work one or more shifts for the Bar to Bar Golf Classic on February 11, 2008
Help stuff eggs or set up for the Easter Egg Hunt in 2008
Mark tickets at the Progressive Patio Party in May 2008
Be an "actor" or help build sets at our Haunted House, October 25-27 & 29-31
Assist in the writing of our quarterly newsletter
Label and sort mass mailings
Set up and relocate our traveling display rack to site throughout the community
Distribute (and create) promotional pieces
Share ideas to enhance existing and produce new activities
Conduct surveys periodically
Provide construction assistance at the New Life Project
Adopt a planter in the spring... fill it with flowers and water it in the summer
Research property data
Investigate investment statistics
Share event ideas with a committee and help plan an activity

Beyond physical involvement, you can be involved through your generous monetary donation that helps keep the organization running and provide activities that bring hundreds downtown throughout the year. Memberships in Jacksonville Main Street are available at virtually any level you are comfortable giving. For the price of just one fast food meal each month, Jacksonville Main Street can provide newsletters to over 1,200 readers, or provide several months of internet communications about our mission and success in revitalizing our historic central business district.
