Jacksonville Main Street's first haunted house event was a screaming success! Over 860 people visited Arkham Asylum during its six-day run of tours.

The event went off without a hitch thanks to the dedication of the Promotion Committee, and especially Beth Racey and the Asylum planning committee: Hunter Eden, Bob and Trina Meek, Joey Henry, Steve Varble, Bonni Waters, JB Meier, and Jearrie Burleson.

Thanks to the many volunteers who helped in so many ways, from building sets to assuming characters throughout the production: Harley Anderson, Elizabeth Becker, Joy French Becker, Chris Blesse, Sean Blesse, Kelly Brockhouse, TJ Burleson, Brad and Laura McNeal Campbell, Cassie Clinton, Fred Clinton, Joey Clinton, Mike Coop, Loni Crowder, Jennifer Curtis, Parker Day, Marie DeJarnett, Jodie Fairfield, Barb Gatlin, Megan Graves, Amber Hanneken, Kristan Becker Hoffman, Dusty Howell, Kristen Jenkins, Josh Jones, Will Kerns, Rick Kluge, Chris Liggett, Shawn Mack, Hannah Matthews, Collin McEvers, Maggie McNeal, Sean Meek, Marissa Meloy, Emily Miffin, Hannah Muir, Diana Noud, Kerris Osborn, Zach Pickens, Mitch Prather, Jessica Reynolds, Chris Rice, Jonathan Roegge, Robert Rosalez, AJ Salyer, Tom Schierl, Andy Selway, Carly Stone, Megan Strause, Taylor Sweeting, Erin Tighe, Nolan Tighe, Andy Selway, Anicka Valek, Jill Wagener, Kenny Waters, and Tom Winner.

Thanks also to the generous sponsors: Jacksonville Chrysler Dodge, Inc., The Home Depot, County Fence Co., Godfathers Pizza, Mike Griffitts Construction, Jacksonville Fire Extinguisher Service, The Farmers State Bank & Trust Co., Meek and Co., Steven Varble Productions, AJ Spreen Plumbing, and ALCO-White. We are also grateful to the City of Jacksonville, Terry Chumley, Off On The Square, WJIL/WJVO Radio, WLDS/WEAI Radio, Jacksonville Journal Courier, and Butch Graves' Kettle Korn for their generous support.

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response, Jacksonville Main Street hopes to hold a haunted house event again in 2008. Scare you then!
