For over 30 years, there has been an Easter Egg Hunt on Central Park Plaza. In 2002, Jacksonville Main Street took over the event and continued the tradition. The 2007 Easter Egg Hunt was held on March 31 at 10 a.m.

Typically held two weeks before Easter, children ages 0-12 gather on the Plaza and divide into 4 different age groups for a turn at "hunting" for prize filled eggs.

Complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny, who rides in on a Jacksonville Fire Department truck, the Easter Egg Hunt provides an average of 250 youngsters with a morning of free fun each year, sometimes braving chilly temperatures.

And everybody loves to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny!

Volunteers from Heart of Jacksonville, our partner for this activity, and helpers from throughout the community, make this event a great success!

Thanks to the generosity of former Sheriff Jim and Pat Robson, along with US Bank, First Bank, Jacksonville Savings Bank and The Farmers State Bank and Trust Company, this great family activity will continue next year... join us!
