Farmers Market Returns!
 

Beginning May 7, and continuing every Wednesday through October, the Farmers Market on the Square will return with late afternoon hours of 4-7 p.m.

Last year's response was extremely positive, and at the request of vendors and customers, Jacksonville Main Street has agreed to bring it back as a weekly event... with a new name: Farmers Market on the Square. Set up is free for all vendors by simply calling either Jacksonville Main Street or Beth Racey at 217-479-4038.

Expect the return of locally grown fruits and vegetables, plus honey, home-baked goods, and organic produce throughout the entire 2008 growing season. Also watch for the slightly different location, with all the vendors together on the northeastern side of the Plaza on the grass areas just south of Jacksonville Art Glass and Karen Anderson Designs, and just east of Lincoln Land Community College.

This year's Farmers Market on the Square also features a new twist... with area non-profit and community organizations sponsoring various market dates by covering that week's Jacksonville Journal Courier back-page reader advertisement.
